Strategy & Support
for Working Artists
our approach
our approach
Mise en Agency helps artists build sustainable creative practices without compromising their work or voice. Through strategic mentorship, identity development, and hands-on strategic consulting, we prepare you for events, in-person opportunities, online presence, and growth that feels aligned and reflect your practice.
Why mise en
agency?
Most artists spend years honing their craft — but the business side is rarely taught, often overlooked, and too often treated like an afterthought. We work with fine artists, artist/maker hybrids, and creatives who want strategic support built for their world.
We don’t churn out business advice that belongs on LinkedIn. We’re here for artists who want real conversations, hands-on strategy, and guidance that actually fits their world. Whether you’re self-taught or carrying an MFA, we meet you where you’re at.

The meaning of “mise en”
Derived from the French phrase mise en scène, 'mise en' (Pronounced "meez-ahn") translates loosely to 'putting into place.' In film and theatre, it refers to the intentional arrangement of everything the audience sees — composition, movement, space, and meaning.
For us, it’s a reminder that every element of your practice—from your narrative to your audience—deserves the same level of thoughtful placement.
We chose this name because our work is about helping artists set the stage intentionally—without noise or compromise.
